Celebrating Different Cultures

On January 14th, Ms. Schaack’s Class celebrated the different cultures inside their classroom. During Social Studies, students had been learning how different people come from different cultures. Ms. Schaack’s class then had a cultural tasting to celebrate. Students brought different foods from their culture. Some of the items students brought were from Germany, Italy, Mexico, and a Norwegian dish.

National Popcorn Day

We popped popcorn in a test tube by candlelight for National Popcorn Day. We learned that popcorn has been around for over 5000 years. Popcorn is also known for bringing peace and good will. We also got to enjoy a cup full of popcorn.-Mrs. Garcia

Today we celebrated

Today we celebrated National Popcorn Day with a science experiment. My students observed as the popcorn kernel heated over a candle and eventually got to the correct temperature to pop into popcorn. We watched a few videos on how popcorn is made and facts about popcorn while eating some popcorn for ourselves.

Happy Thanksgiving Tea

In preparation for Thanksgiving each year, 3rd grade students host a Tea Party.  Teachers use this time to teach and practice proper manners.  They learn to set the table using formal etiquette.  Hopefully parents  and grandparents will notice a difference during the holidays!
