Chadron Primary School

Monday, October 23rd and Tuesday, October 24th Chadron Primary School will host our Parent Teacher Conferences and Annual Scholastic Book Fair.  Conferences on Monday are scheduled and will be in teachers' classrooms so please call the office for availability.  Monday's conferences will run from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.  Tuesday, conferences will run from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. and will be open in the gym on a first come, first serve basis.  Both days will have 1:30 p.m.

Our sweet little Addisyn G. was absent from school on the day we had our Cardinal of the Month celebration.  She, like the other Cardinals of the Month, has been doing a great job in following our Cardinal Rules.  Congratulations Addisyn, keep up the GREAT work.

Mrs. Ferguson's First Grade students created some wonderful pictures of a farmer with a hay rack.  They had an example; however,  this was all done free handed.  Such creative work from these hard working first graders.

                                                                                                                            
Chadron Primary School will have a contest to help collect Box Tops for Education. We will do two contest one in the fall and one in the spring.  The Battle of the Box Tops will run from Oct. 2nd through Oct. 26th.. The classroom that collects the most Box Tops during this time period will earn a Pizza Party.

Chadron State College's Elmo Eagle recently visited Chadron Primary School ~ he joined a couple of classes during lunch and then visited individual Kindergarten classes.  Students had the opportunity to give high fives and hugs to Elmo as well as participate in a coloring contest; the chosen winners will get to ride the Homecoming float with Elmo Saturday, September 23, 2017 (winners will be notified via phone call to parents/guardians).  Thank you Chadron State College and Elmo!

Chadron Primary School would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Creative Dining Services.  Deb Kuskie organized a school supply drive and the employees of Creative Dining were able to donate a large amount of supplies to the Primary School.  These supplies will be able to help students in need and we greatly appreciate the kindness and generosity shown.  Thank you again!!

Primary School Students were treated to an amazing musical performance sponsored by Chadron State College.  Todd Green plays over 30 string, flute, and percussion instruments from all over the world.  His custom-built electronics system allows him to layer instrument sounds as he plays and in effect turns him into a high-tech one-man-band of World Music.  His concert features original music inspired by more than a half dozen cultures in the Middle East, Asia, South America, and Africa. The August 21st eclipse may be over but the 2nd graders used their library time to further explore the event by programing Ozobot robots to demonstrate how the eclipse occurred.  Students used OzoCodes to create the elliptical orbit of the moon.  Students were engaged and inspired when the topic came alive after successfully programming the Ozobot robots!

Please join us Tuesday, September 12, 2017 for our Parent Information Night from 5:00 - 7:00p.m.  This is unlike the Meet and Greet where you could drop in and out of classrooms throughout the building in that we will have scheduled times for each grade level.  While we enjoy seeing your students every day, this meeting is just for parents, thank you for your consideration.  Ms. Uhing will begin by having all families of the designated classes join in the gym for a brief review of some things that pertain to all grades.
