United Methodist Church Sunday School Group Makes Donation to Chadron Primary

Children from the United Methodist Sunday School Group made a generous donation to Chadron Primary School.  Students from this Sunday School Group have been saving their collection money and decided to initiate a campaign they call "Fuel the Kids".  These students and their sponsors chose to use this money for students with overdue lunch balances as well as for students who are free/reduced.  Our students who qualify for free and reduced meals often like to get extra entrees and the money deposited into their accounts will allow them to do that without the families getting charged.  We were

Courthouse Tree Decorating

Dawes County Courthouse has a fancy looking Christmas Tree thanks to Chadron Primary students.  Courthouse employees invited students down to show off their homemade ornaments and decorate the courthouse.  Children were able to take a walking field trip down to Main Street for the event and the students enjoyed their time and were given a candy cane for the walk back to school.  Thank you to the Courthouse and to all of the staff who helped get our students there and back safely.  When you have a chance, stop by to enjoy the scenery.

December 21st Assistance Requested

Chadron Primary School is excited to launch a day of learning and fun the day before Christmas Break.  Each grade level has a variety of hands-on activities designed with our curriculum in mind but centered around holiday themes.  Students will rotate between stations designed by teachers and each grade level has specific times and party plans.  Here is our request - with so many students and hands-on activities we are asking for volunteers to help in classrooms as we create, move, and learn.  While we adore our younger visitors, we do ask that on this date you make arrangements for younger

Domino's Field Trip

Thank you to Domino's Pizza of Chadron for hosting our Kindergarten classes for a "field trip" to the store.  Each class was able to have their own time to observe food safety and preparation as well as the workings of a restaurant.  One of the favorites of the trip was to sample the pizzas they made.  Our students were also excited to ride the bus across town as this is the first experience for many and the opportunity to enjoy a few hours of education in addition to curriculum is one our children will not forget.  Thank you again to the staff at Domino's Pizza for this wonderful experienc

October

More AMAZING students spotted in the building!!!  These Cardinals continue to go above and beyond for following our rules and setting great examples.  Classroom teachers celebrate outstanding students by choosing them to participate in the Cardinals of the Month breakfast.  We are so proud of these kiddos and the ways they follow our Cardinal Rules 1)Be Safe, 2)Be Respectful, and 3)Be Responsible.  Congratulations to all of our students!

UNL Virtual Field Trip

On Tuesday, Mrs. Landreth’s class participated in a virtual field trip to Morrill Hall in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mrs. Landreth was awarded the Roger’s Scholarship to cover the costs of the program, Animals in the Hall. Prior to the field trip, students worked in teams to create dioramas based on native Nebraskan animals. During the field trip, Ms. Annie guided us around the dioramas at Morrill Hall. We learned about the job of a zoologist, predators, prey and other animals native to our area.

Essentials Pantry

The pantry consists of essential hygienic and household items that cannot be purchased through SNAP benefits or obtained through other community agencies.  All of our items are free, and there are no guidelines as to who can utilize the pantry.  We operate on a “no questions asked” policy.  Basically, if someone comes in saying they need assistance, we will give them what we have.  They just come in and say they are here for the pantry, and they can fill out the sheet to request
