Chadron Head Start and PreSchool have openings now for 3 and 4 year olds.

Mrs. Hoffman's Take on the spelling bee
Today, Wednesday, May 16, we held our annual spelling bee in the gym. Three students from each third and fourth grade class were the participants. Each class gave a spelling test to all the students. The top three best spellers from each class became our contestants. Tobin Landen, Emmerson Landreth and Mason Frye were the contestants from Mrs. Hoffman's class. Mrs. Schmidt was the announcer/pronouncer and Mrs. Motz and Mrs.
Sometime you have to look back in order to realize how far you have come!
Good times become good memories!
Looking back on the 2017-2018 school year has been a lot of fun. We started with an eclipse of the sun and ended with the longest winter -ever. Now that spring is here, we have enjoyed our field trips and have prepared our garden for the fall harvest.

2018 Wildlife Week Poster Winner

Bicycle Safety at CIS!
We greatly appreciate Chadron's Police Department and all they do to protect us. Each spring, CPD teaches bicycle safety to elementary students. They also helped look over our bikes to be sure they were in good working order. Chadron Police Department teamed up with our SRO Derek Bauer helping us be safe!

Dr. Aaron Fields is bringing a presentation to our afterschool program on May 9th. He did his doctoral work on the migration of Burrowing Owls. Please remind your students they definitely want to attend CIA on May 9th! It starts at 3:45.
Long Dry Spell - Jack Reads Across Nebraska!
It's been a long dry spell just like the pioneer's ride across Nebraska. Jack made it with a smile on his face and new knowledge. He read about Weird But True Facts About Animals. He also enjoyed a couple of Magic Tree House Book. If you ever want to know some weird but true facts about animals, just ask Jack!
