Chadron High School competed in the 2014 CSC Scholastic Contest on Friday, April 4th. Chadron HS finished 4th out of 14 schools in Division III (1st - Wright HS, 2nd - St. Thomas More HS, 3rd - Bridgeport HS).

Film Crew Arrives!

We're very excited to host the Nebraska Loves Public Schools film crew today.  Several staff and student interviews are taking place as well as cameras filming footage in our halls and classrooms.

The film is focussed on individualized instruction of students. We'll anxiously await the final production which will air on The State of Education in Nebraska series on NET2 this June. Videos can also be found on

CHS Sophomore Finishes 3rd In State Speech!

Congratulations to CHS sophomore, Shoilee Rahman in her 3rd place finish at the Nebraska State Speech Meet in Kearney this week!

Shoilee competed in the Class B Informative contest. Narrowly missing the top six finishers were CHS seniors, Jenna Banzahf (Poetry) and Logan Lembke (Extemporaneous).

The Cardinal Speech Team is coached by Mr. Joe McCarty and Ms. Katy Dobry.  Congratulations to all!

Mr. Paopao Wins State Award!

We're very honored to share the announcement that our Technology Director, Eliu 'Uati' Paopao, was named the winner of the Excellence in Leading with Technology Award sponsored by the Nebraska Educational Technology Association.

The purpose of the Excellence in Leading with Technology Award is to recognize and honor an individual who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in implementing technology to improve teaching, learning, or administration.

Basic Nursing Students Practice Feeding Patients

Basic Nursing is one of our dual-credit courses through WNCC taught by Nicole Pourier. Every year during a patient-care unit, students practice feeding patients with disabilities. Our CHS staff volunteer to serve as patients, each with a specific physical or mental disorder.

This has provides a great learning opportunity and experience for our students interested in pursuing a career in nursing addition ... it often turns into a fun experience for our staff!

Three Cards Qualify For State Speech!

The Chadron Speech Team placed 4th at the B6 District speech contest on March 20th in Gering. Three Cardinals have qualified to compete in the State event next week in Kearney.

  • Logan Lembke (senior) - 2nd in Extemporaneous Speaking
  • Jenna Banzahf (senior) - 3rd in Oral Interpretation of Poetry
  • Shoilee Rahman (sophomore) - 3rd in Informative Public Speaking

Tis The Season To Be ..Testing!

The testing season is upon us. At the high school level, testing is done with multiple exams for every freshman, sophomore, and junior. Seniors have no required tests, although many take ACT tests in final preparation for college.

Speech Team Wins Conference Runner-Up Title!

Congratulations to the CHS Speech Team who are the 2014 Western Conference Runner-Up!  This is the highest finish at the conference meet in many years.

On behalf of Chadron High School, I want to humbly thank several local businesses that surprised us Monday afternoon with a donation that will support our high school pep band travel to Lincoln for the Girl's State Basketball Tournament.

Lady Cards Win District Basketball!

Congratulations to the Lady Cardinal Basketball Team for their district championship and automatic qualifier to the Nebraska State Basketball Tournament!

They'll play Pierce this Thursday at 1:00mst at the Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln.

Film Crew Postpones to April

The film crew from Nebraska Loves Public Schools has postponed their visit to Chadron Schools to April 2nd and 3rd.

They were originally scheduled to film in our schools next Tuesday and Wednesday.

A Film Crew Is Coming To Chadron Public Schools!

Nebraska Loves Public Schools is a team of filmmakers on a mission to showcase positive stories from Nebraska’s public schools.  Nebraska Loves Public Schools is a campaign funded by the Sherwood Foundation.  The group was guided to Chadron Public School after they asked the Nebraska Department of Education to recommend some schools that do a good job with individualized learning.

CPS Parent Technology Survey


Please take a few minutes to fill out the Chadron Public Schools Technology Survey.  The results of this survey will be used to envision future technology enhancements for our school district.  Your name will be entered into a drawing for some great prizes after the survey is completed.  However, you may choose to complete the survey anonymously.

CHS Competes In Envirothon

The Envirothon is open to all 9-12th grade students and encourages high school students to learn more about the natural environment. The contest challenges students’ knowledge on aquatics, forestry, wildlife, range, soils, land use and natural resource policy or issues and one special topic of national interest. Five-member teams compete in a setting where they learn that cooperation is needed to achieve success.
