(Neb.)-Backpacks Donated For Chadron StudentsBy: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 09/10/2013 10:56 AM(Chadron)-The annual School Supply Drive sponsored by KCSR/KBPY and Walmart is still in full swing, and the first round of supplies was donated to a school today (Tuesday). A special request was received from the Chadron Intermediate School for backpacks, which were delivered to Principal Bill Cogdill and his staff. The backpacks were purchased with funds raised at the Stuff the Bus promotion held in August. Nearly $300 was raised during the event. Other supplies have been purchased as well, and more donations will be distributed very soon. People wishing to donate supplies or monetary donations can do so by dropping them off at the Walmart courtesy desk, or at the KCSR/KBPY studios at 226 Bordeaux in Chadron. Any school with a special request can submit that to [email protected], and that request will be passed along to our listeners. This is the third year for the School Supply Drive, and many area schools have benefited from the donations, including Chadron, Gordon-Rushville, Hot Springs, Oelrichs and Trunk Butte Christian School.(Questions?
