We greatly appreciate Chadron's Police Department and all they do to protect us.  Each spring, CPD teaches bicycle safety to elementary students.  They also helped look over our bikes to be sure they were in good working order.  Chadron Police Department teamed up with our SRO Derek Bauer helping us be safe!
 When riding, always:

  1. Go With the Traffic Flow. Ride on the right in the same direction as other vehicles. ...
  2. Obey All Traffic Laws. A bicycle is a vehicle and you're a driver. ...
  3. Yield to Traffic When Appropriate. ...
  4. Be Predictable. ...
  5. Stay Alert at All Times. ...
  6. Look Before Turning. ...
  7. Watch for Parked Cars.

Before each ride:

  • Tires: Check for proper inflation. The recommended inflation for your tire can be found on the side of the tires and is measured in PSI.
  • Brakes: Spin the wheels to check for rubbing and proper functioning. Check brake pads for excessive wear and rubbing.
  • Quick Release: Make sure that wheels are fastened firmly and do not wobble.
  • Gears: Make sure the gears shift smoothly and that the chain doesn't jump off the gears.

Above all-BE SAFE!
