The Chadron High Future Business Leaders of America attended the annual State Leadership Conference in Omaha on April 6-8. While at the conference, students participated in a big business tour of Renze Display, listened to the keynote speaker, Hoan Do and attended a variety of workshops. But most importantly, Chadron students competed amongst all class levels in many different business competitions. This conference was attended by over 2,200 students and advisors this year. Chadron FBLA had a another year of success and brought home an abundance of awards.

On Monday April 24th the Wanderlust Cardinals will be hosting a Chadron High and Chadron Middle School Talent Show at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The cost will be $5 for adults and $3 for students K-12. The Talent Show will work a bit like “America’s Got Talent.” Contestants will be eliminated in their high school and middle school categories each round, bringing the final round to three contestants each.
On March 15th, twelve FBLA students ventured across the street to attend the first annual American Business Competition at Chadron State College. Since this was the first competition hosted by CSC, Nebraska Council on Economic Education and Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), attendance from other schools in the panhandle was not quite at the level they were hoping for. However, Chadron High and Hay Springs both showed up ready to compete. Students were given one hour to complete a 100 question test in each event.
This is the time of year to start planning for the many year-end events. I thought I'd take the time to share those important dates and times.
Graduation will take place in the high school gym again this year. We do not reserve or block off sections of seats for families. Instead, parents/friends are welcome to enter the gymnasium when it opens at 11:00am and reserve up to 10 seats on the gym floor for the family of each graduating senior. There is additional seating provided in the bleachers.
Chadron High School will host parent-teacher conferences on Thursday, February 9th from 5:00-8:30p in the Commons area. Sign in as you enter the main entrance, we'll help you find all of your student's teachers.
We hope to see all of our parents!
Also, there will be no school on Monday, February 20th as it will be a teacher inservice day for the district.

(Press release from the ACT News Desk)Local Student Achieves Top ACT Score!Walt Mays, son of Lucinda and Roger Mays and a 12th grade student at Chadron High School, earned the highest possible ACT composite score of 36. On average, less than one-tenth of 1 percent of students who take the ACT earn a top score. In the U.S. high school graduating class of 2016, only 2,235 out of nearly 2.1 million graduates who took the ACT earned a composite score of 36.
