CHADRON INTERMEDIATE AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMNOTE TO PARENTS
Last Week of CIA – Please read!!!
Thursday, May 14th will be the last days of after-school program for the school year. We have enjoyed spending our after-school time with your students, and it has been a great year! We plan to celebrate the last week with a CIA Team Field Mission on Wednesday, May 13th! Thursday the 14th will be a movie and clean-up time for our students and staff.
This week students found out what team they are on and worked on headbands for all team members to wear at Wednesday’s games. On Monday and Tuesday, we will work in groups with our agent coaches to create a team name, a team chant, develop a sportsmanship plan, and decorate our team’s relay baton and team cookie. We will complete academic time first on those days.
ON WEDNESDAY, THERE WILL BE NO ACADEMIC TIME—JUST THE END-OF-THE-YEAR CELEBRATION. We will begin the Field Mission at 3:45 p.m. and end by 5:20 p.m. Program will end at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Please consider joining us for the Field Mission. If you are not able to join us, please plan to pick your child up at 5:30 p.m.
Our Field Mission will consist of sack races, tug-of-war, and relays. Teams will also be performing their team cheer. Points will be awarded in all categories including sportsmanship! We will finish up with popsicles! Please have your child wear tennis shoes for this event!
All students who have been registered for CIA have been placed on a team even if they weren’t here to make headbands. Enough were made for the entire team. However, if your child plans to attend on Monday and/or Tuesday, please make arrangements for them to stay for the entire program until 5:30 p.m. so they can be a part of the team activities and planning. If your child cannot stay until 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, it would be best for them NOT to attend that day. PLEASE, PLEASE help us out with this. It will make it very difficult to keep the teams fair and our activities on track if we have students leaving at different times throughout the Field Mission Celebration. We are very proud of the number of CIA students we have had attend throughout the year, and we hope that you will all be able to join us for our celebration!
